UEMF Center for Doctoral Studies

The doctoral cycle is a training in and through research, leading to a Doctorate degree after defense of the research conducted before a jury. The doctoral degree programme consists of training and research to enable the doctoral student to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake and complete high-level scientific research.

The Centre for Doctoral Studies (CEDoc) of the UEMF is above all a scientific entity that advances the scientific life of the doctoral cycle through lectures, workshops, debates, courses and workshops of specific training courses such as health and safety courses, training on library research, scientific writing, training in oral communication of research results and training on digital technologies and the history of science. The CEDoc also enacts the rules of the various examinations and the charter for the drafting of the thesis and its defence before a jury.

The CEDoc consists of two units: the Engineering Unit and the Humanities and Social Sciences Unit. Each of them develops and ensures the organization of a doctoral training accredited by the authorities responsible for higher education after approval of the National Commission for the Coordination of Higher Education. The Center has a director and a CEDoc Board.

PhD students are selected based on a call for applications for funded research projects. In this context, PhD students receive a subsistence grant of 5,000 to 8,000 DH/month for three years.

For the thesis entry to be final, the candidate must pass three exams:

1- Oral Presentation, after three months of admission to the CEDoc
2- Pre-doctoral examination, after six months of admission to the CEDoc
3- Review on a seminar, after one year of admission to the CEDoc

The student will not be able to continue his research work if he fails one of these exams
