The President of the University

The term of office of the President of UEMF is four years, renewable by the Board of Directors. In the event of death, inability to perform his or her duties, or when the Orientation, Supervisory and Development Board (OSDB) decides to appoint a new President, this proposal must be submitted for approval to His Majesty the King, Honorary President of the Euromed University of Fez. 

The President is chosen from among personalities recognized for their academic and scientific competence at the international level. He/she must present a project for the strategic development of the University in line with the missions assigned to him/her.

The President: 

  • manages the University and all of its components;
  • chairs the meetings of the University Council (UC);
  • represents the University in dealings with any administration, constituted bodies, national or foreign Universities and any third party;
  • accepts donations and legacies;
  • has all the powers necessary for the management of the University and its components. 
  • proposes to the (OSDB) projects for the development of the University;
  • commits the expenses of the University in accordance with the budget adopted by the OSDB.
  • keeps the accounts of the expenses incurred and validates the expenses and receipts of the University;
  • proposes to the Chancellor the agendas for the GA and the OSDB (EB);
  • executes the decisions made by the OSDB, or delegates the execution thereof;
  • prepares the annual budgets and ensures their implementation after the OSDB has adopted them;
  • recruits the teaching and research staff of the University as well as the administrative and technical staff;
  • ensures the coordination of the activities of the different entities, faculties, institutes, departments, units, joint units, partnership entities and centres of the University;
  • undertakes audits concerning the management of the University (financial management, administrative management and any other aspect related to the operating of the University);
  • performs all conservatory acts and represents the University in court;
  • ensures discipline within the University.
