Workshops
The Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF), in partnership with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), is organizing a workshop on November 26, 2019 on the theme of "Sustainability: towards a new development paradigm in Euro-Mediterranean area ”.
This Workshop saw the participation of several researchers, experts, diplomats, business leaders and high-level specialists from Morocco and the Euro-Mediterranean region for a working session rich in fruitful debates and exchanges.
The concept of sustainability-sustainability has established itself as a prerequisite for any model of development of States and organizations. The UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement and the various COPs have anchored in minds the need to transform production and consumption methods by adopting practices that are more respectful of the environment, nature, of humans and living things.
In the Euro-Mediterranean area, Morocco is particularly involved in the challenge of climate change (organization of COP22, implementation of the mega project of the Ouarzazate solar power plant, active policy for the promotion of renewable energies and national strategy for sustainable development) and in the development of intense cooperation on this subject, particularly at the African level.
It is as a supporter of this vision that UEMF took the initiative to organize, in collaboration with the European Institute of the Mediterranean, a workshop in Fez on the theme of "Sustainability: towards a new development paradigm in the Euro-Mediterranean area ”.
In this context, various contributions ranging from strategic approaches to sustainable development, energy transition and the circular economy to participatory approaches and the dynamics of climate change can enrich this theme.
